Okay, okay, only one character referenced this week is actually Looney Tunes, but I do seem to have referenced more cartoons this edition than my weekly average. Bugs takes center stage, but Rick and Morty is an obvious one. And, of course, both Captain America and Adam Warlock have been featured in various animated series.
I knew I shoulda taken that left turn at Albuquerque.
Thanks to Jac Novak’s “Reverse Map Projections as Equivariant Quantum Embeddings” for the discovery of this paper, which I’m not including for the way that it’s written, for a change. Instead, I’m including it for the way that it could evolve into “quantum computing for cartographers.”
Quantum Shakespeare
I’m not commenting on the content of this arXiv preprint; I honestly haven’t had a chance to read it. However, I’m enthusiastically applauding the authors invoking Shakespeare in their paper’s title. I’m not even a Shakespeare fan, but I appreciate these works as timeless classics.
Wukong Wackiness
Origin Quantum is once again boasting about the progress they’re making, this time despite western sanctions. The funny thing — sad thing, really — is that Wukong still sucks. Not only are the numbers some of the worst you’ll see anywhere, try counting how many qubits still have zero connections.
Quantum Drama
I literally just wrote an article invoking Bohr and Einstein, so the timing of this discovery is convenient. I would’ve added this book to this newsletter just because of the title anyway, but I read the sample on Amazon and it looks like it ought to be a pretty good read, as well.
Captain America v Adam Warlock
Is your classical algorithm a Captain America algorithm or an Adam Warlock algorithm? This is the story of a classical algorithm that was published as a Captain America algorithm, with optimal performance, but has turned out to be an Adam Warlock algorithm, like Captain America but not limited to classical abilities.
Freelancers Available!
Have I mentioned in previous editions of this newsletter that I know a couple of freelancers who are looking for work? Well, just in case I haven’t, one of them is a Virtual Assistant and the other is a Python/C++ Programmer. Either would be happy to earn $5 per hour.
You know this guy.
This episode of Yuval Boger’s The Superposition Guy’s Podcast is Chris Bishop. I am convinced that absolutely everyone in quantum knows Mr. Bishop. So, if anyone ever asks you how to get into quantum, it’s not about degrees, courses, or books. I’m convinced it’s about getting your 30-minute videocall with Chris Bishop.
Global Quantum Game Jam
I’m inclined to add just about any game jam to this newsletter, because how can a game jam not be fun? Um, hello… they involve games. But this one got my attention because it is sponsored by Eigensystems and will use Prof. Chris Ferrie’s “Quokka” quantum computer emulators. That’s creative marketing.
Rick and Morty
With cheat codes, Spiderman, and piñatas, Adden AI really didn’t give me much of a choice as to whether or not to include this post. I have no idea what Plumbuses and Fleebs are, but that’s alright. I’m happy they used a theme that I’m unlikely to invoke. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
Why do we need a quantum Internet?
This is a good question. And if you are either unknowing or uncertain as to the answer, perhaps I can interest you in this animation by QuTech. Follow the link, and you could be only 2 minutes 34 seconds away from increasing your knowledge. This link might require a LinkedIn account, though.
Did you hear that?
Moth earns a second appearance in The Quantum Dragon, this time for sonifying a qubit. You’ll want to order some catering, invite some guests over, and crank up your speakers for this one. It’s 10 seconds of audio, so I’m only exaggerating a lot, but you should still take a listen. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
So yes, yes I am following this pattern that I just spent an entire post critiquing
The Road Less Traveled
Mark McGuire makes a good point in this article. Introductory quantum computing content is everywhere, and yet we keep churning out more. I non-sarcastically love that he criticizes this before announcing that he intends to do the exact same thing. I absolutely love it. This link should not require a Medium account.

Let me know if my post requires a medium account, if it does we have a problem.
