Two Lepidoptera, One Carnivora
A butterfly, a cat, and a moth take over The Quantum Dragon cave.
I don’t know how or why kingdom Animalia makes so many appearances in this week’s edition. I just add interesting things as I find them and then I look for a common theme. This week, I couldn’t help but notice that we have an abundance of animal references.
Quantum States as Images, Gates as Butterfly Patterns
I have never seen anything like this post by Dr. Constantin Gonciulea. I’d like to characterize it as quantum information meets image processing, but not in the context of using quantum computers for image processing. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
What’s in a name?
I haven’t given much thought to Quandela’s name. It’s got a Q in it, of course. But it turns out the origin of the name is actually interesting. It’s explained here with an analogy to the Olympic flame, which arrived in their hometown last week. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
Schrödy Chat™
So, Strangeworks has a cat with sunglasses and a hoodie. It looks kinda sorta familiar, but since I can’t definitively recall seeing it before, I’ll treat it as new and exciting. Either way, the graphic designer earned this link. The AI agent’s name qualifies, too. And now the big question: will my beta application be approved?
Freelancers Available
Take a good look at yourself in the mirror. Seriously, go ahead. Don’t you think you deserve a Virtual Assistant? Let me answer that for you: of course you do. You work hard. How about offloading some of those minor tasks for $5/hour? Or how about automating some stuff with your own personal Python/C++ programmer? Same rate.
I’m not that smart. I just try to be not that stupid.
Q-CTRL makes a good point in this advertisement for Black Opal. Simply mentioning “quantum” is a surefire way to make laypeople think you’re smart. I am also compelled to include this ad in this newsletter because it includes OpenQASM, my favorite language. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
Quantum Poetry
Technically, this short poem by Dr. Zlatko Minev isn’t officially quantum, but since Dr. Minev works in quantum I’m calling an audible and including it anyway. If you have a response to his question, let him know. If you have more poetry, let me know. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
Easy Listening
When Dr. Robert Sutor speaks, I listen. As a bonus, Yuval Boger is asking the questions. So, pour yourself a nice, hot cup of java, kick your feet up, and enjoy some easy listening this weekend. And if you like what you hear (you will), you can look up Dr. Sutor’s two previous podcasts with Yuval.
Express Yourself
Moth’s mission in to enhance creativity and artistic expression in music, gaming, and the arts with quantum computing. Although current quantum computers can’t do much, they can already do these three things surprisingly well. This link might require a LinkedIn account.
Avengers, assemble!
I hereby nominate Prof. Chris Ferrie to consult on the next movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) that references a multiverse, just to see what can be done with this Medium article on the silver screen. Anyone know Kevin Feige? This link might require a Medium account.
