Forget Zero Day, "Negative-Day" Is Cybersecurity’s Greatest Threat

Forget the “Zero-Day.” The greatest threat to enterprise cybersecurity is the “Negative Day”: Quantum-enabled hackers stealing secrets before they can even be read.

Traditional Zero-Day threats require an attacker to exploit a weakness today, but Negative Days inverts that logic by betting today’s inaccessible information will eventually be visible.

Because the cost of storing data is near zero, the future is the new attack surface. Adversaries are harvesting encrypted data today and simply waiting for quantum-as-a-service and AI cryptanalysis tools to unlock it in the future.
