Following the quantum-related Executive Orders from the White House, Brian Cunningham, Former Special Operations Commander, Navy SEAL, and now EVP with QuSecure, commented:

I believe the Department’s strategy takes an important step by emphasizing cryptographic inventory before migration. That reflects the reality of enterprise technology. Most large organizations do not know every location where public key cryptography is embedded across applications, infrastructure, operational technology, and third-party software. Until you establish that visibility, you are making migration decisions with incomplete information. The next challenge is building an execution model that reduces risk during what will likely be a multi-year transition. Modernization will happen over time. Mission assurance has to exist from day one.
