Inspired by a thread with Dr. Aggie Branczyk about quantum stock valuations, I present to you a newsletter about nothing. I wanted to keep it blank, but I didn’t think IQT would go for that. Appropriately, Seinfeld was never meant to be about nothing; it was meant to be about being stupid, kinda like quantum stock valuations.

I confess to not understanding this meme at all, but I always appreciate the use of Dungeons & Dragons alignments. Fun fact: The Quantum Dragon is Chaotic Good. Thanks to Prof. Travis Nicholson for sharing an image of his reconfigurable tweezer array. Even as the 2nd least qualified person in quantum, I’m reasonably confident that I could figure out how to use it. I might even be able to figure out how some of the other nearby equipment works. The latest addition to Inside Quantum Technology’s event page is IQT’s The Quantum Dragon Podcast.

I have learned to be careful in this space. There is a line and crackpots stand on the other side. I have to put a no-fly zone with a large buffer zone around that space.

What the Dragon Taught Me

I avoid the dreaded “c-word” at all costs because I’ve seen the reaction the quantum community has to it. I’ve seen people banned from groups for invoking it. I’m only making an exception this one time because Dr. Thomas Ehmer used my cautionary tale on his Entangled Health Podcast.

Photonic QCs, neutral atom QCs, quantum chemistry, quantum sensors, atomic clocks, cloud quantum computers, worldwide quantum computing, post-quantum cryptography, quantum technology industry, quantum random number generators, quantum computing software, room-temperature superconducting QCs, entangled networks, quantum repeaters, quantum processors… which market forecast report is coming out when? The Grand Staircase of Quantum Computing

The Grand Staircase inside Hogwarts Castle is magically whimsical, unpredictably opening up new routes while simultaneously closing others. How could this possibly be analogous to a quantum computer architecture?

That’s a long flight.

I thought I held the distance record, promoting IQT Nordics: Quantum Technology in a Changing World from the Philippines, but Quantum Australia has shattered that illusion. The Quantum Dragon is thinking about flying down to Australia first, then flying alongside one of the planes so that he can share the travel distance record.

Quantum Noise Detector

Alan Ho and Prof. Michael Biercuk inspired the Resuscitated Quantum Bullshit Detector, but the original(?) has resurfaced on Bluesky. It’s back to reposting a simple “bullshit” or “not bullshit,” so The Quantum Dragon will continue to monitor for challenges, controversies, and debates under this new name from Dr. Bob Sutor.
