It came up in conversation the other day that quantum conferences are all the same. The same people talk to the same people about the same stuff over and over and over again. I’m not telling you anything you’re not already thinking.
The problem, as you may have noticed, is that The Quantum Dragon promotes IQT conferences. That’s a terrible message to share. Therefore, while everyone else claims to be different, and yet this perception persists, we asked aloud what honestly breaks IQT events out of the industry’s mold.
Vertical and Focused
This is the image I use for The Quantum Dragon’s Quantum Fiery Voices. As you can see, he’s breathing fire absolutely everywhere, and it sure is glorious. But astute observers will note that the Quantum Fiery Voices all use the same image. I simply overlay a new name. There’s no point having little nuances in the dragon and its breath, because the concept remains the same and remarkably few people are likely to notice the differences. I recycle the championship belt for The Dracarys Award for the same reasons.
This is essentially what everyone else is doing, and that’s the reaction they’re getting. The same mouths breathe out the same words in the same broad pattern and the nuances aren’t really noticeable.
IQT’s dragon, however, looks like the featured image at the top of this article. That dragon isn’t breathing fire everywhere like everyone else. Instead, the dragon is near vertical and breathing a narrow cone of fire, focusing on a specific target. For example, Quantum+AI isn’t broadly quantum but focuses on the AI overlap on the Venn diagram. The same applies to IQT Nordics, which has a geographic focus.
Conclusion
All quantum conferences are the same, except for the ones that aren’t. As an added bonus, Quantum+AI has Dr. Bob Sutor, who The Quantum Dragon is a well-established longtime fan of, and IQT’s Lawrence Gasman, who graciously leaves his window open so The Quantum Dragon can “steal” scrolls of wisdom from his desk, working on the program.
