Quantum is way too interesting for anything written about it to be boring, and yet The Quantum Dragon struggles each week to find non-boring content. One person who has probably never posted boring content is Jack Krupansky. He has written lines that have burned so hot that even The Quantum Dragon has felt the need to bathe in aloe vera after reading them:
Is Rigetti the weakest of the quantum computing hardware vendors, at least in the U.S., and destined to fail, an all-out crash and burn? …are they destined to fail…?
Sigh, even more Quantum Smoke and Mirrors, designed primarily to cover up for the fact that IBM still has relatively low-quality qubits and weak connectivity.
I wouldn't go so far as to suggest that they are a fraud, but I would place them high on a list of candidates for quantum hardware vendors likely to end up being complete flops.
Here's the latest in quantum computing from Google Quantum AI - the latest in Quantum Smoke and Mirrors.
Quantinuum sets a new record for density of... Quantum Smoke and Mirrors!
IBM is at it again, giving us another strong dose of Quantum Smoke and Mirrors.
Classiq has provided a truly great doily, but is it even close to covering the full breadth and depth (and stench) of the dung heap of quantum computing hardware?
I'll try to stick to my recent goal of refraining from further detailed comments on specific quantum computing news items, but I did want to at least point out this latest Quantum Dumpster Fire, definitely some Quantum Smoke and Mirrors.
It's extremely premature to start talking about a Quantum Internet - as if it were a walk in the park, a fait accompli, a done deal, easy-peasy, destiny, or... whatever.
I'm not sure which of Xanadu and PsiQuantum will collapse and crash and burn as the greatest FRAUD of quantum computing first…!
IBM's quantum story is getting more complex, complicated, convoluted, confusing, and messier with each passing month.
…the Quantum Dead Pool, a list of quantum computing companies which seem fairly likely to end up going out of business in the relatively near future….
For these lines and many, many more, The Quantum Dragon recognizes Jack Krupansky as one of his Quantum Fiery Voices.
